You don’t have to BE fit to GET fit. If you can walk up the stairs to the second floor, you’re fit enough to get started. Expect to improve rapidly though!

Not at all. We separate our sparring classes from our teaching classes so that everyone has a chance to get proficient in the techniques we teach before even thinking about sparring. But when you’re ready to try your hand at sparring, we’ll take care of you so that you get safe, fun training.
Yes. We base our self-defense program on Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, a combat style specifically designed and tested in the real world to help smaller weaker people overcome larger, stronger assailants through leverage and positioning.
Many of our women compete, and we count among us several Ontario Open champions — in fact, many women from other teams come to our Open Mat days to polish and improve their competition games. That being said, competition is not for everyone, and there’s room for every type of athlete on our team.
No. The women at our academy are an integral and valued part of our team. They train with each other and with the men in a safe, respectful environment.
